7.18.07: Wow have we been busy! In the
first 2 months of our big city life we have had four (yes four) sets of visitors!
The day we moved in, Amie's former roomies Grant and Nick came to visit and attend
the NFL draft. While the boys sat through the longest draft in NFL history, Amie
unpacked and Niles finished cleaning out the apartment in Bridgeport. We got to
spend some time with them, sightseeing, dining, and learning our way around. |
|
Two weeks later, Megan flew in for a quick break
from the stressful life of being a police officer to help accept delivery on our
new fridge, see a few sights with Niles, furnish her apartment with a trip to
IKEA, then help Amie return the van we'd been borrowing to NC. The girls then
were in Leslie's wedding, which was fabulous, of course.

Memorial Day weekend, Mike and his Megan stopped
by on their way back from a wedding upstate. It was Fleet Week so there was plenty
of activity about (because, you know, we are starved for things to do here). |
|
Then, the day we heard about Alex, Amie's mom
and two youngest brothers arrived, stopping over on their way to visit family
in MA. What great timing, as we enjoyed the excuse to not be miserable all weekend,
and being with family during tough times is always wonderful. They returned the
next Friday on their way home. After a day at the Zoo, they headed home in time
for Father's Day. And then we spent Father's Day with Niles' dad, the one of our
7 parents who isn't in NC. Our friend from Alexis from CT has come by a couple
of times, but not to stay over. But it's been great to have her too. |
| We are expecting Dan and Natalie next week, then
Aaron and Ginny, as well as the Lapsley bunch the following week. Then it will
be Amie's birthday, so the partying continues! We have lots of tentative visitors
so book your spot now! We are accepting reservations through July, 2008 :) |
